Old Yard Digital Database

About the Project

Through the dedicated efforts of Eagle Scout Aaron Girvan, our cemetery's oldest section has been meticulously documented and digitized. This groundbreaking project captures over 1,000 grave sites dating back to the 1790s, including previously unrecorded historical markers. Each entry includes detailed information such as names, dates, and precise location mapping, supported by high-quality photographs of the headstones.

How to use this information

Our digital archives contain records of 1,096 grave sites, featuring:

  • Complete burial records from the 1790s through the 1870s, filling a crucial gap in our historical documentation
  • Notable burials including a former congressman, town founders, and military figures
  • Family monuments and shared grave sites
  • Precise mapping coordinates for easy location
  • Photographic documentation of each marker

This resource serves as a valuable tool for genealogical research, historical documentation, and preserving our community's rich heritage. We invite you to explore these records and discover the stories of those who helped shape our community.
